ECHO Lighting & Design Department is comprised of several specialists with experience in lighting and controls for any environment. We are equipped to work with CAD drawings and overlay a lighting layout onto an engineered plan, provide detailed point calculations and assure you have IESNA recommended lighting levels met and controls implemented per code requirements.
We will assist you with your lighting selections and recommend proper placement for ideal lighting distribution as the requirements of each application dictate. We will assist you from project inception all the way through the completion of the job and go even further with helping you properly maintain your systems for years to come. We can also help maintain lighting and control systems in existing buildings and find parts and/or fixture replacements as needed. If you have a building with aging inefficient lighting we will walk you through the process of lighting retrofit or fixture replacement and research available municipality incentives available.
We are allied members with several energy providers in our territories and will process the required paperwork for you. Our team can provide detailed payback and ROI reports to companies so they can decide if our proposal is economically viable. John Mayberry, LC
John Mayberry is a lighting designer who is devoted to enhancing space and architecture through the use of light. He believes that you can achieve visual balance by using various lighting layers and control strategies. John has been in the lighting business for over 20 years, continuously learning about emerging technologies and modern design principles. His qualifications include being registered and LC certified from the National Council on Qualifications for Lighting Professionals, and is an American Lighting Association Certified “Lighting Specialist”.
John's role as a commercial lighting designer is to guide the project from inception to completion. This includes site analysis, point by point photometric calculations, product selection, energy management, code compliance, lighting control options, and commissioning of control systems. John works on site to ensure proper light color temperature and distribution are used in specific areas, along with precise fixture placement and aiming of specified luminaires to ensure the integrity of the lighting design.
Brian Bowers started with Commercial Lighting Group at ECHO in September of 2006 and is a Certified Lighting Specialist. As lighting has evolved over the years, so has Brian’s role, originally a Lamps and Ballast specialist, he has had to continue to evolve with the new LED lighting and expand his expertise to include fixtures.
Brian works with both Contractors and End-Users to come up with lighting solutions that best fit the customer’s requirements, whether it be with lamps, retro-fit options, or new fixtures. He also assists with Lighting Audits, Payback Analysis, and facilitating Utility Rebates for the customers to help maximize their return. Brian has led various training sessions for both contractors and facility staff on how the various elements of light (lumen output, kelvin temperature, beam spread, CRI, etc…) affect the work environment and the area it illuminates.
Rick Williams began his career in the electrical industry in 1972. Over the years he has held both inside and outside sales positions, and has been focusing on lighting for the past 20 years. He has been an Echo team member for ten years, and has been with the Echo Commercial Lighting Group for the past four years. He is a Certified ALA Lighting Specialist and is familiar with the wide range of lighting control options available today.
Working closely with electrical contractors and their clients to develop a comprehensive lighting and control design, Rick leverages his experience to make projects run smoothly. Other responsibilities include working with contractors and end users on LED lighting upgrades for existing lighting systems, conducting lighting in buildings, recommending upgrade solutions appropriate for each application and filing the forms required for any utility rebates that might be available.
Myles Johnson is excited to lead the lighting controls portion of the Commercial Lighting Team. Integrating different lighting control methods into commercial spaces giving the user adaptive, fluid control over the lights and shadows in their space. Collaborating with the rest of the lighting team to develop a well-rounded solution encompassing the lighting design of the space, the luminaires that have been selected, as well as any code or safety compliance required in the design.
Myles’ responsibilities include researching new and emerging control options, specifying lighting control for projects, advanced tech support, assisting with lighting layouts, photometric calculations, and commissioning of lighting control systems. Prior to his joining the Commercial Lighting Team he achieved a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa, and has been an Echo team member for 6 years.
Trish Rasmussen / Deb Daubman
Trish Rasmussen and Deb Daubman are the leading edge of the Commercial Lighting Team, operating as agents for Customer Service and Sales. Lighting Specialists with a combined 25+ years of lighting experience, they help our customers with a wide range of lighting related projects: from retrofits to new construction, or specialty one-off projects; they are the key to our customer’s success.
The Commercial Lighting team “Quarterback” – Dennis Kile is a key component to the team’s success. He assists with vendor communications and specifications, working with the commercial lighting team to manage projects and quotations, and he brings a wealth of experience and wisdom to the team.
